Abstract


The rapid development of science and technology has led people to the era of global competition in various fields of science, one of which is mathematics. The SD / MI national mathematics competition which was initiated in 2003 was one of the strategic places to realize the educational paradigm. But even so, not all teachers were able to keep up with the development of existing science and technology. Current conditions also required teachers to be able to follow developments in science and technology in training and assisting students in independent learning from their respective homes. Prior to this condition, teachers had also received demands to be able to train students to compete in academic fields such as mathematics. Even so, not all teachers were able to provide proper training to students as a form of preparation for them when they wanted to participate in competitions. The Mathematics Competition Problem Solving Training was a form of activity that was expected to be a solution to this condition. The training activity which was attended by 15 people consisting of 9 teachers, 1 lecturer, 1 civil servant, 1 housewife and 3 students received positive responses; they raised some questions and paid attention to the problem solving given during the training. Accordingly, it would be some consideration for the next similar activity implementation plan.
